| Sirius FM antenna patch kit | | I saw in my local Radio Shack today a kit for Sirius Satellite radios that allows one to run a line to the antenna jack of their car stereo directly while also allowing the car's antenna to remain connected. This would create a direct link between the Sirius receiver and the car stereo when the stereo is "tuned" to the FM channel selected for rebroadcast on the Sirius unit, but when tuned to any other channel, the car stereo would still receive regular radio signals.I'm having a good experience so far with using my FM re-transmitter, but this device holds some appeal for me because I don't enjoy fiddling with both my car's stereo and the Sirius receiver when I drive long distances and need to find different empty FM channels. Has anyone purchased one of these kits? I'm curious about how easy they are to install, if there's an improvement in sound quality, worse sound quality, etc. | |
| | How many people have XM satellite radio and/or sirius satellite radio? | | Hey mylotters I was just curious how many people here have either XM radio or Sirius radio. I have had XM radio for a few years now and me and my whole family love it. We all have our favorite channels that we listen to. I just love the fact that if I want to listen to something different for a change I can listen to any genre of music I can think of. I cant believe that its taking for long for the merger of XM and Sirius to actually happen. I am anxious about whats in store for the future of satellite programing. Im pretty sure that the best of both Sirius and XM will be integrated together but it is scary not knowing. I hope that some people that have XM radio find this discussion I really want some input about what people think. I have XM hooked directly into my sat ready cd player in my truck its so convenient to have so much variety of music right at my finger tips:D:D:D | |

| | Howard Stern to Interview Martha Stewart on Sirius Satellite Radio | | image
In what can only be described as a disaster waiting to happen, Sirius Satellite Radio has announced that Howard Stern will interview Martha Stewart for the first time later this week.
In an obvious cross-promotion stunt for Sirius to fete its two powerful celebrities, the company says Stewart will appear on Stern's show to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Martha Stewart Living, her Sirius radio channel.
At 7:30 AM on Thursday December 14, millions of listeners will tune in to hear the shock jock talk to Stewart.
All I can say is WOW, cant wait to hear the question he's going to pop off at her. Should be an interesting interview to say the least.
| | | Howard Stern fans? | | I'm sitting here listening to Howard Stern from his Sirius satellite show. I absolutely love that we can get him all day long now and not have to worry about missing him in the am. I love how everyone on the show is so completely honest...saying what we all feel but would never admit.! Any thoughts? | |
| | Could you listen to the same type of music every single day? | | My boyfriend is obsessed with the 50's. The clothes, the cars, the music, the decor. Everything in his life has to be very 50's.I don't mind most of the things, but I hate the fact that everytime we get in the car he turns his Sirius Satellite radio onto a 50's station and that's that. Then we get home and it's the same thing on the home stereo system. All the time he's around, it's all old rock, which I didn't mind, but am starting to get really sick of.I have a huge wide variety of musical tastes, and I hate that he's not into variety at all. | |
| | i listen to New Age ALOT Lately. | | I just renewed my sirius satellite en route to a 3 month for 1 month price.
Basically a trial offer.I was without it for a month and they called me last night and offered a 3 month for the price of one month trial offer.I was missing it because when i go to play drums,i need to have a good steady flow of music variety.Right now,as i chill out on the couch with my laptop,my chillin experience is enhanced via "Xm Chill Channel".New Age always has that place in my heart and soul.
Other stations i tune it to are Jazz,Blues,Classical,Gratefull Dead, and whatever else suits my feeling at the given moment.Anyone else have sirius satellite radio and enjoy The Xm Chill Station quite frequently...?
| | Best 10, Worst 10 Cars for Holding Value | | If you spend tens of thousands of dollars on a car, you want to get something back for your investment when it's over. Inevitably, the value of your car will depreciate, but you'd like it to have as much trade-in value as possible. This doesn't just go for buying a car. When you lease a car, the amount it will be worth at the end of the lease is critical in determining your monthly lease payment price. It's called residual value, an important factor to keep in mind if you're shopping for a new car.In a list compiled by Automotive Lease Guide, or ALG, the 10 cars expected to hold value the most over the next five years are an eclectic group (sedans and small sport utility vehicles, among others). What do these cars have in common?"You see a much better alignment of production with market demands," says James Clark, editorial director of ALG.What about cars that will hold the least value after five years?"You'll see a lot of brands we traditionally have high-depreciation rates for," says Clark. Some of these vehicles are heavily used as fleet vehicles for rental car companies; some (i.e. Korean brands like Hyundai and its subsidiary, Kia) have perceived... | |
